Polyglactin Acid is a synthetic, braided, absorbable, surgical suture composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. It is coated with polyglactin and calcium stearate.

Polyglactin Acid suture is indicated for use in every type of soft tissue approximation, including use in ophthalmic surgery but not in cardiovascular surgery, microsurgery or in nervous tissue. This suture can also be used as ligation.

In handling suture materials, care should be taken to avoid damage from handling. Avoid crushing or crimping damage due to application of surgical instruments such as forceps or needle holders. Adequate knot security requires the accepted surgical techniques.
