El producto está hecho de un tejido de fibra de vidrio/poliéster impregnado de una resina de poliuretano que se activa al contacto con agua.

La venda al humidificarse, se somete a una reacción de polimerización y se solidifica, permitiendo un vendaje rígido y es usado para limitar la movilización temporal de un segmento corporal.

The product is comprised of knitted fiberglass/polyester fabric impregnated with a water-activated polyurethane resin. When moistening the bandage, it undergoes a polymerization reaction and becomes solidified. It allows for obtaining a rigid bandage which is used to restrict temporary mobilization of a body segment.

  • The cast is lightweight, strong, and porous.
  • Permeable to air.
  • Translucent to X-rays.
  • Available in blue, green, pink, and white.
  • Cast for single use only.
  • It provides great stability and good impact strength.
  • The bandage is extensible in all directions which enables it to conform to difficult body contours.

Instructions for Patients:

Patients should follow these instructions:

  • Call your doctor right away if you notice any of the following signs or symptoms:
  • Too loose or too tight dressing.
  • Pressure or friction under the dressing.
  • Tingling sensation in the limb where the dressing was placed.
  • A significant change occurs, or pain is increased.
  • Numbness or hands or feet that turn blue.
  • Do not place any object under the dressing.
  • The bandaged limb should not be immersed in water.
  • Use a wet cloth to clean the dressing.

Dressing Removal:

 The dressing can only be removed by the treating physician using the equipment and standard technique to avoid injuries on the patient and heat accumulation while using cutting tools.

Flammability:

The product supports combustion under normal conditions. Uncured polyurethane dressing burns over an open fire.

Precautions

Wet resin may adhere to skin and clothes, which may be a little irritating. Always use gloves for application. Use alcohol or acetone to remove any uncured resin. Do not use if there is any inflammation risk. For the cast window, wait 10 minutes after application before starting to cut.
